Here are some resources to help you connect with your child and with God.
Ask This:
While often it feels like getting an answer other then, “Church was good” out of our littles is impossible, our hope is to help bridge that gap with specific and open ended questions to help you be the primary influence in what your child is learning at church by aiding in your conversations at home. These questions are based directly on what they talked about in small group and how the lesson relates to their formation each week.
Week - 10/4
This week we started a new series focusing on Discipleship. We started the series off looking at how Jesus’ disciples called Him teacher and Lord.
Ask This:
- What would you say if someone asked you what is a disciple?
- How can you tell if someone is a good teacher or a bad teacher?
- What do you think makes Jesus a good teacher?
- What do you think it means to make Jesus your Lord?
- What do you think is different about Jesus being your teacher and Jesus being your Lord?
Week - 10/11
In HQ this week we focused on how Jesus’ disciples really know Him based out of the text in Philippians 3:10.
Ask This:
- When you get to know Jesus better, you get to know God’s power better. What do you think it means to “know God’s power”?
- If you’ve seen or felt God’s power, share what it was like.
- Share some ways a kid can spend time with Jesus.
- What’s so good about getting to know Jesus better?
Week - 10/18
Wrapping up this series we focused on how Jesus helps His disciples make more disciples.
Ask This:
- How do you think it helps others when you follow Jesus’ example?
- To copy Jesus’ example, you need to know what He did and how He lived. How can a kid find out what He did and how He lived?
- When do you think it is hard to follow Jesus’ example?
- Share one thing you already do a lot that follows Jesus’ example.
